Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury created a children’s book titled, We're Going on a Bear Hunt. It’s about a family who, in their search for a bear, encounters obstacles; a stream, mud, and brambles in the path. “We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, we have to go through it” is what they decide each time.
The Full Moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto retrograde is a bit like a bear hunt. It certainly isn’t child’s play. The Full Moon is illuminating all things Plutonian in our lives. This planet represents both our wounds, and our power. On the shadowy side, our past, our pain, and our fears loom large, and the reason it feels so foreboding has to do with the fact that there is usually some element of truth presented to us that feels difficult to face.
Love doesn’t live in the story.
Love lives in the present.
If we can sit in the light of the Moon, and be with our shadows and stay present, this Full Moon has gifts. There are messages ready to come through and speak right to our hearts, messages meant just for us, messages of healing.
How do we heal when the past has consequences that serve as reminders? How do we maintain the grace of innocence in the face of loss? Can open heartedness and life experience hold hands, without begetting cynicism? These may be questions we’re feeling now.
If there’s an answer to be found, it comes through “not going over it, not going under it, but going through it”. This is such a beautiful Full Moon to dive deep, to hunt for the truth, to wait in stillness and listen. Healing looks like standing on our own two feet, and trusting our instincts relentlessly. It looks like seeking the wisdom of the Earth, and the wisdom of our bodies. Being true to ourselves, and stating our intentions, makes room for the Divine, and gives us wings.
