Full Moons in Taurus tend to be extra beautiful. Please, go outside to look, and see if you sense what I mean. Not only is Luna, herself, a little extra, but all of nature seems to respond favorably when the Moon saunters through this sensual Earth sign. Ruled by Venus, Taurus is motivated towards tranquility. Simplicity and naturalness are the aim. Security, feeling rightly aligned with our environment, (both inner, and surrounding), and an attunement to our primal senses, are all highlighted. Â
The unencumbered (unaspected) nature of this Lunation reflects The Bull’s signature straightforward, no pretenses, approach to life, and encourages us to do the same. Even in the midst of an atmosphere that reads anything but calm, this Moon lends a grounded, steady approach.Â
Lunar ruler, Venus, is in a position of strength in the last degrees of Libra, her other domicile. (she calls it a palace ; ) And thank goodness, because at the moment, Venus plucks the string taught between Jupiter in Cancer opposing Pluto in Aquarius. These two at odds ask us to feel ALL the big feelings being dredged up by situations seemingly out of our control. We grapple with our bottom line, finding out where we can give compassionately, and where we make our stand. The ultimate goal: feeling is healing, healing is evolving.Â
Mars in Sagittarius opposite Uranus in Gemini has us determined to make sense of, and render meaning from the curveballs, both collective, and personal, that keep getting hurled our way. The idea the cosmos has now is to shatter perceptions that keep us stuck and small. An out of bounds Mercury, still conjunct Mars in Sagittarius, is preparing to station retrograde. Its slowed motion lends extra influence now. Question everything you know! Let open mindedness and curiosity be superpowers… the avenue to let more life in! Â
Mercury’s 3 week retrograde journey from Sagittarius back into Scorpio later this month helps us make sense of some things we want to understand, digging to the bottom of the treasure chest to see what answers we can find.Â
The collective feeling now, with outer planets retrograding back into previous signs, is one of letting go and surrendering to a bigger process. There is great change over the horizon, but right now, an unravelling, a releasing, to make way for reconfiguration.
There is something so beautifully human about this Moon. Amongst the myriad of other activity shifting in the skies now, the Taurus Moon simply is. It accepts the drama as yet another facet of natural life, and isn’t shaken. It listens to the cacophony of the cosmos, and hears a symphony. It accepts circumstances as they are, for what they are, and keeps striding steadily forward.Â
So please, let’s celebrate this Taurean Moon with time in nature, with silence, with stillness that allows the winds to swirl while we stay grounded in our center. That is the place where the whispers of our ancestors can be heard, and their wisdom absorbed. Celebrate this Moon with food and music that nourish body and soul, relishing in our humanity and honoring our spirituality. Celebrate this Moon.
Aloha,
Elizabeth
