Musings On... the Full Moon in Capricorn

Aloha! Happy Full Moon in Capricorn!

Cancer season reminds us to rest, nurture, heal, connect with family, and ground into home… wherever our sanctuary may be. 

Now, at the peak of the season, with the Moon Full in Capricorn, we are reminded that sometimes in order to heal, we need to take a grounded, practical approach.  Capricorn teaches us to act according to our intentions, which are based on our values, rather than only our emotions.  Cancer season is full of emotion, and we need both feeling, and logic in order to proceed.  Cancer in the Great Mother, and Capricron is the Father archetype. 

This may be a moment of tough love, and of learning to ‘parent’ ourselves, or take responsibility for ourselves.  It’s also important to find the balance, so that we aren’t carrying so much responsibility that we are weighed down, and can’t tend to our hearts. 

Saturn rules this Full Moon, and is currently stationing retrograde (Saturday) in the sign of Aries, conjunct Neptune retrograde.  As Saturn slows down, it wants us to tune into our sense of integrity, and what we value, from our highest self.  This is the framework for decision making. 

There’s something larger at play here, as these planets dance together between now and next February, when they will join in an exact conjunction.  

For now, there is more to uncover in pursuit of our goals and dreams. Neptune is our dreams and illusions.  Saturn is reality. Together, they whittle away our false illusions and help us to see the practical goals and real work involved in order to make our dreams become real. 

As these two dip back into Piscean waters in the Fall we’ll have greater access to creative pieces that want to come together to form the rest of the picture before we move ahead into a new chapter. 

Part of this involves Uranus ingressing into the sign of Gemini.  While in Taurus we learned what prohibited us from feeling peace, security, and alignment with our physical bodies. We learned how to reprioritize those things, letting go of whatever stood in the way.  

Now in Gemini, (until 2033) Uranus will teach us how to expand our perspectives, in order to free our minds from mental constructs that may hold us back from our personal evolution.  It may kick up mental dust in order to do so…  and the idea is that we find new freedom in our thinking, and see things in a new way.
