Musings On... the New Moon in Pisces

The Moon is New at 28°27’ Pisces.  Pisces, the sign of “feel and flow” is an easy one to let go in.  With the addition of many harmonious aspects with the New Moon, it could be easy to blink and miss this gem, or sleep our way through it!  Pisces times are great times for sleeping and dreaming, aaaand…. There’s treasure here for us if we set aside a little time to focus. 

This New Moon reminds me of a conversation I recently had with someone, when she told me she had gone on a 10 day silent meditation retreat. The idea was to go deep inside herself, and be with whatever came up. At the end of the retreat she felt so renewed and strong.   Imagine “getting away from it all”, and taking a soul dip in healing ocean waters, even if only metaphorically. 

But if you’ve ever tried to meditate for more than 30 seconds you know that it takes some effort!  And when we sit still with ourselves all kinds of things can arise!  Mercury has been retrograding through Pisces, and is grinding to a halt, to station on Friday.   As it does so it sits with the north node of the Moon, so naturally opposing the south node. Mercury is here to bring messages and clarity in the areas we need healing.  Maybe we weren’t even aware we needed the healing!  Maybe we discover blind spots.

This configuration can reveal patterns of thought that have been disruptive, and run the show in the background. It’s like having an app running in the background, except it's a bug that dismantles software. Mercury allows us to see them for what they are. With the new Moon sextile Pluto and sextile Uranus, there’s potential here for transformative revelations!  An opportunity to rewrite our personal standard operating procedures.  This is precious!  The first step is recognizing the old inner narratives, and choosing differently. 

Friday is also the day the Sun moves into Aries!  Spring Equinox!  Can you believe we’re already half way to the longest day of the year? 

By the time the next New Moon rolls around all of these planets will have moved on into Aries, and beyond.  Don’t rush the moment!  Even if it isn’t perfect, even if there’s some discomfort. This time out of time moment is sooooo juicy and precious. Please, let's take this time to heal, rejuvenate, and take those renewing soul dips in the cosmic Ocean.
