Aloha!

Happy New Moon in Libra!

Here's what I'd like you to know.

Libra new Moons aim to help us restore balance. Libra also helps us take in Beauty. Our senses want to soak in it, for serenity of mind, and as a balm to the nervous system. Libra also wishes to bring equinimity to our relationships. Sometimes that means tipping the scales a bit to bring things back into alignment.

Venus, planetary ruler of Libra, is currently retrograde in the sign of Scorpio. Venus retrogrades are 40 day journeys. During these times we review Venusian things, such as relationships, and our values. In Scorpio, this means whatever is true, we're getting down to it! Elements of our relationships that get swept under the rug, values that we've glossed over rather than kept in the forefront of our lives, ways we need to show up differently in relationships for ourselves, for other people... these things will reveal themselves in ways that we cannot unsee.

Venus is conjunct Mercury. Yes, Mercury is about our expression, and there's relevance here. We need to speak our truth, speak our values, and express ourselves honestly in relationshps. And Mercury is also about our perception. So something that has been hidden, regarding our values, and our values in relationships may come to our attention. This could be tendencies we have that we've inherited from parents or ancestors, it could be deep, underlying motivations that have compromised the quality of our relationships. Frankly, its a chance to see our relationship patterns in a new light, and adjust to live according to our integrity.

Venus square Mars in Leo is so fiesty! Mars wants to ROAR! it wants to LIVE, to have FUN, TO EXPRESS IT'SELF!!! (Mars likes exclamation points and all caps!). Venus in Scorpio says, "look behind what you see to find deeper truth. Theres passion, there's friction (you can use your imagination to put those two together), there's heat. Some of it might be fun, some of it might be really frustrating. Mars often highlights our boundaries. Are we being authentic or have we been "too polite"?

Now... October 23 is a big day! The Sun moves into Scorpio, and when it does, it meets Venus there at the beginning of the sign. Venus is infused with with the warmth and light of the ultimate source of Life. Renewed, a new cycle begins. This is a day to pay attention to. Hours later Mercury stations retrograde. This means it will spend 3 weeks reviewing things that are happening between now and then. Venus reveals truths that Mercury will help integrate into perception and practice.

As Venus makes her way back towards early Scorpio, she'll squre Pluto in Aquarius. Ultimately, all of this is about a transformative process. It's happening on the inside. What is shifting? What needs to change? How do we adjust to come back into balance after we see clearly where we've been off? It's worth the ride. It's worth allowing ourselves to graciously accept what we see, and then determine our next steps forward.

I imagine this to be a little bit like a chiropractic adjustment. It might be a little uncomfortable at times, but ultimately, being realigned so that we're balanced is a wonderful thing.

Cheers! Happy New Moon in Libra!
