Musings On... the New Moon in Sagittarius

Saturday, November 30, 8:21pm Hawaii Time

I love the sign of Sagittarius.  Wild, adventurous, a Seeker, spontaneous, Free! Tell-it-like-it-is, eternal optimist…  This is truly a beautiful sign. Sagittarius has to do with Faith… (not necessarily the religious kind, though it can be)  Sagittarian Faith is DISCOVERED through life experience. This is the “learn by doing” sign… or, “learn by going”. Go~ travel, see the world, and LEARN!  As we gain experience, we gain faith in Life.  This sign is also about our beliefs, which are also a direct result of the way we experience life. When we do our Sagittarius we put the puzzle pieces together to discover Truth.  I saw this word on a license plate today… ‘Truth’. Sagittarius is the pilgrim on a vision quest to seek out Truth!  Truth brings Wisdom… another a good Sagittarian word. There’s also an affinity for pattern recognition here… because discovering patterns allows us to change, and expand our consciousness.

So… a New Moon, a New Beginning in the sign of life experience, faith, and beliefs…

Let’s take a moment to tune into the bigger picture for context.

We are still feeling the paradigm shifting transition of Pluto into Aquarius.  Aquarius is an air sign, which relates to the mind-consciousness. Insights and realizations abound, especially regarding ways in which we’ve unconsciously been living out of alignment with our most authentic selves.

Mercury is in retrograde, asking us to review, rethink, reimagine, (and because it's also  in Sagittarius), perhaps re-experience some part of our lives.

Mercury is forming a trine with Chiron in Aries.  Perhaps these two are asking us to recognize thought patterns, or belief patterns, that keep us stuck in insecurities, fear, or anger.

This Sagittarian New Moon is not too distant from Mercury rx.

We are being asked to create a new beginning in our beliefs/faith/experience by rethinking thought/belief patterns that hold us back. It may involve reexperiencing these patterns to become aware of how they play out, so we can choose differently going forward. The process helps us to discover who we are, when all the layers we "put on" fall.

Luna is poised opposite Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, in Gemini. (keep in mind this means at the time of the Full Moon, the Moon will be joining Jupiter)  So… in order to increase our faith in Life… Jupiter asks that we adjust our thinking, or our patterns of perception. Jupiter wants us to experience Joy!  This Moon/ Jupiter opposition squares Saturn in Pisces, which can represent blockages based on illusions that we perceive as real.

Saturn has been unraveling our personal illusions for us throughout its passage in Pisces by requiring a deeper  commitment to spiritual practice. Having recently stationed direct, there’s forward momentum building with this configuration.

So, it’s time to learn something new by going over something old, and rewriting, or recapitulating our experience. It involves changing our thought patterning to allow greater Wisdom and more Freedom.

Trine Mars in Leo… we’re supported in being genuine, playful, and fully present in our hearts.

Mercury will station direct with the Full Moon on the 14th/15th (time zone depending).  We’ll be supported to act on our realizations.  Now is a time to listen… to “hear” our thoughts as they move through our consciousness, and decipher the Truth.
