Freedom loving, adventurous, open hearted, honestly spoken, gypsy soul…. Sagittarius runs with the wind, chases the horizon, and thrives in the wild. But why? All of these gifts serve a purpose. They’re aimed at seeking. Sagittarius is, in its heart of hearts, a seeker; of wisdom, truth, and deeper understanding. With constant questioning, a need to know, and a natural belief in the basic goodness of life, faith is the foundation of any Sagittarian quest.
And so, with a Sagittarian New Moon, we begin a cycle of deepening our faith. Specifically, our faith in “the process”. What process? Look at the square between the New Moon, and the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. Saturn and Neptune represent the larger, relevant framework sculpting our experiences at this time. Both of them have been retrograde since last July. Saturn returned to Pisces in September, and Neptune in October. We’ve been practicing surrender, and letting go. So many things have been unraveling.
Saturn next to Neptune continues to challenge us as well, making sure that all of our dreams pass the test of reality. Any false hopes and notions die away, and naturally, we grieve what is lost, or what never became. As we begin to build again, Saturn is the grounded, practical force that can assist us in bringing Neptunian dreams into actual manifestation.
Now that these two are both in direct motion, while the act of surrender continues, we begin looking ahead. Seeking, seeking… So many Neptunian visions are still half-formed. We may have a feeling, or a dream, (the work of Neptune in Pisces) but have no idea how it will ever come about.
Have you ever seen the movie “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken”? It's the story of a young girl who had a dream of performing a horseback high dive act in a circus. Her dream came true, until one day, due to an accident, she lost her sight. (spoiler alert) Everyone told her that was the end of her passionate career, until she learned how to perform the act blind. With that wild, adventurous spirit, I’m almost certain she was a Sagittarian. She probably had an Aries Moon too…but that’s not the point.
Some triumphs can’t be reached until we move through a loss, and subsequent healing.
When I opened this chart for the first time, I couldn’t stop looking at Jupiter. It’s retrograde, in the sign of Cancer. It rules both the New Moon, and the North Node at this time. It also trines and disposits Neptune. In other words?? Jupiter holds a lot of focus in this chart, so what is its message ?
Jupiter moved into the sign of Cancer in June of 2025. Just last month it stationed retrograde, where it will continue its review of the sign until March of 2026. Then, stationing direct, it will proceed through the sign until July of 2026, when it moves into Leo. Jupiter in Cancer is asking us to place our faith in the process of healing. Cancer is the great Mother, she feels, she nurtures, she tends to the wounded until souls are healed from the inside out. Jupiter’s retrograde is teaching us to feel deeply, so we can deeply heal. That’s why Neptune had to go back and spend more time in Pisces, before beginning a grand new cycle in Aries. (huh? keep reading)
There’s BIG energy ahead early next year. 2025 has been a year of preparation. Revisiting and seeing the parts of us that deeply need to heal is fundamental to being prepared for the next chapter in our lives. It will require wholeness. I don’t mean perfection I mean, that we have both surrendered to the process of, and done our work in: healing.
Yes, I know… this is a life-long process. But later the pace picks up. The last couple months have been a “time out of time” moment for this process to occur. It looks like: Dreaming and downloading the visions, or the “feeling” of what we wish to create (Neptune in Pisces), realizing and releasing the false notions that would hold us back (Saturn in Pisces), acknowledging the feelings this process dredges up, and healing the hurts (Jupiter in Cancer), all so that we can gain clarity and security in who we are, and what we bring to the table. (the sextile to Uranus in Taurus). Pardon the run-on sentence, but it's been a run-on process!
As Saturn and Neptune imua (move forward) we can use the energy of this New Moon to strengthen our faith by understanding the process we're in, and seeking clarity for the direction forward. These last drops of Pisces are a beautiful setting to get clear on our goals for the next chapter of our lives. Meditative/creative time, and our spiritual practicies are deeply supported, and supportive now.
Mercury in Sagittarius, square the nodes, is challenging us to release the old mental patterns that have had us running in loops for too long. It’s time. What a blessed New Moon! Flanked by Mars in the lead, blazing the trail for us in ambitious Capricorn, and sweet Venus on the other side, gathering support to surround us.
Let’s also keep in mind that these themes are relevant, not just to the day of the New Moon, but to this Lunar month! If we think of the New Moon chart as the birth chart for the month ahead, we realize these are themes that we can work with for a while as they unfold.
Ok! Hope some of this is helpful for you. As always, take what resonates, leave the rest. Wishing you all cozy holy-days filled with Love, Laughter, and great memories made.
