Happy New Moon in Virgo!  Virgo is one of the most interesting signs. (aren’t they all!?)  Often accused of being a boring, overly analytical, “have to organize everything”  kind of personality, this sign is widely misunderstood.

In fact, Virgo’s Mercury ruled, razor sharp mind is swift to pick up the most subtle of details, making it the great Cosmic detective!  This gift means that when Virgo picks up on a flaw, it can’t  unsee  the problem.  Thus, perfectionism can be part of the Virgo archetype. Aimed positively, it knows exactly what needs to be fixed in order to restore integrity.  This is an enormous asset in any group function.  Turned inwardly, the sign’s ability to self-assess gives it an edge in the personal growth department!  If Virgo misses the high mark, that inward focused perfectionism can be overly self-critical, or turn into self-doubt, a feeling of “what I have to offer isn’t good enough.” Massive amounts of self-love is the key here.

Beyond all of this, Virgo has the heart of a servant.  This sign genuinely wants to be helpful, and it isn't afraid of the hard work it may take to accomplish any task.   As Virgo continually seeks self-improvement, the skills develped along the way are often channeled into actions that bring healing, care, and blessings to others.

Ok!  So that’s a bit about Virgo.  With a new Moon here, it’s time to get reinspired towards personal improvement. Think “reinventing health routines”, and self-care. Whatever skills  you aspire to develop, it’s time to put energy into these. Ultimately, your skillsets will be of service in some way.  These are ways to direct the archetypal energy, but now I want to go further and talk about this specific new Moon in Virgo.

Notice that this Sun/Moon conjunction lies at the focal point of a YOD aspect.  Also nicknamed “the finger of God”, this aspect is known to channel massive amounts of energy into the apex, if and only if, we tend to the base structure first.  In this case, it's time to attend to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, as well as Pluto rx in Aquarius.

We’ve been, and will continue to discuss the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, currently retrograding back into Pisces.  As these two move into Piscean waters, they trigger a falling away.  What  (people, work, circumstances) no longer helps to define you?  What is falling away from your life?  What cycles and seasons are closing?  This is a natural part of the Saturn/Neptune dance between now and February . It can feel uncomfortable, sad, or frightening.  It’s time to trust that these things aren’t happening to us, but for us, even if we don’t fully understand why at this moment.

When things fall away, it's like layers peeling off to reveal the core of who we are.  Saturn in Aries is the "Sovereign I”.

Pluto retrograde in Aquarius asks us where we make our stand, based on what we value, and what is ultimately true for us.  You see, in order to fulfill a high Virgo calling of service we must know ourselves, what we stand for, and what we bring to the table. Otherwise we can fall into the Virgo trap of martyrdom. With the south Node still in Virgo, we must be cautious of just being the “yes” person who shoulders more than their fair share of responsibility, or giving, giving, giving, until there’s nothing left of us.

The North Node is in Pisces, which helps us zoom out to that higher perspective.  Neptune rules Pisces.  Neptune is both the illusions of our lives falling away, and the vision we want to manifest in our lives. It’s done through practical work (Saturn helps with this, and Virgo does too!)  Ultimately, this supports the manifestation of our goals and dreams.

Going forward, its time to bring more of ourselves into what we give.  Leo season, and Mercury’s retrograde through Leo have been helping us to remember who we are.  Finding joy, remembering what makes us come alive, and feel vital, inspires our creative capacities.  When we share authentically from that place, we bring ourselves fully to the table. Then comes Virgo, the sequential sign, that inspires us to make a gift of our skills, in order to help make the world better somehow.

With the New Moon in Virgo square to Uranus in Gemini, a total perspective shift is required so that we can align with the high calling of Virgo.

This is a time of change, of letting go, of personal reinvention, and of stepping up and into who we want to truly be, and what we want to truly offer in the world. This moment in the reinvention process can feel formless. (think of the caterpillar turning to liquid inside the chrysalis). We may not clearly see the ulitmate outcome yet, but this new Moon in Virgo can inspire us to do the work needed to reach our goals.

New Moon Blessings : )
