Aloha Loves,
Here are the impressions I have of this Full Moon in Aries:
Foremost, it's feisty. Actually, the word it wants me to use is defiant. That’s Aries. Bold, strong willed, determined.
Second, it's about the process of our individuation within the context of relationship. The Sun is in Libra, sign of partnership, sign of “others”, and 180° opposite, the Moon is in Aries, the sign of the individual. Aries is the “I am”, it is singular and independent.
During this Full Moon time we’ll need to be wary of unnecessarily isolating ourselves through our words and actions. We may feel heated and unrelenting at times. When in balance these feelings can serve a purpose. They give us the courage we need to move forward in our lives, to speak our truth, and to defy the fear that would keep us small. Let’s consider the process of healthy individuation, as this chart speaks to its cycles.
Following the planets of this chart around the wheel, beginning with the Moon. We’re born, and as we grow we discover our own perspectives, we find our voice, we learn what makes us unique. Along the way we incur some bumps and bruises, we develop some insecurities. And so we work on ourselves, we heal. We connect with our soul tribes, we meet people with whom we have karmic ties. They begin to mirror for us who we have become. In this new context of “the other” we learn to see ourselves, to find our own identity. Messy at times, looking in the mirror of “the other” causes us to see things we may not want to, but look we must. As our eyes are open to who we are on a deeper level, we find the courage to pursue transformation. Something deeply divine is born within us, cultivated, and then released. We offer our gifts for the greater good. Then the cycle ends/begins again.
With this Full Moon, a specific part of this process is being highlighted. It’s as if we’re looking in the mirror, and the question is, what are we going to do about it? Will we close our eyes, and just keep moving forward in denial? Or can we delay our knee jerk reaction to shove the mirror away long enough to be honest about what we see, and find the courage to change our lives accordingly. (Mars in Scorpio)
Some would call Pluto the “higher octave” of the Moon. Preparing to station direct on October 13, and out of bounds at the time of the Full Moon, we could say this planet has “greater gravity” now. Just as the Moon in Aries is the “I am”, Pluto in Aquarius says “I am because I know my truth”, “I am and this is what I stand for, and here’s why”. It is one who has individuated, not simply through the force of birth, but because they’ve lived, gained experience, and learned.
So, let’s use our Aries fire and determination, not to resist those whom we’ve projected our “stuff” onto, but for the courage draw them close in gratitude, looking deeply in the mirror, eager for the opportunity to move forward and grow. If we’re wise we realize the “others” in our lives don’t diminish who we are, they help us to see more clearly, so that we can become who we’re truly meant to be. And the cycle continues...
On another note: An Aries Full Moon can highlight the ways we show up with courage to care for, defend, and protect the people in our lives. Aries folks make great friends, and terrible enemies. We all have a bit of Aries in us! As Mercury conjunts Mars, let's use the power of our words to speak the truth in a way that heals and strengthens, with kindness. And with this Full Moon in Aries, let's lean into the part of us that knows who "I am", has courage, and defies anything that would keep us small.
The sign of Aries represents the initial spark of Creation. For those of us hungry for a new creative spark in our lives, this can be a time of inspiration.
Let's move forward with purpose.
Happy Full Moon in Aries!
