and total Lunar Eclipse

This Full Moon and total Lunar eclipse falls along the Virgo- Pisces axis. Eclipses happen when the Moon moves close enough to its own nodes during a full, or new Moon. (The Lunar nodes are points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic)
This Full Moon is aligned with the North Node of the Moon in Pisces. That means the Sun aligned with the South Node in Virgo. Mercury, Virgo's planetary ruler, is also nearby . As we move towards soul healing and wholeness, the natural trajectory is to move away from the South Node, and towards the North Node. Therefore, the South node represents what we are releasing, and leaving behind. The North Node represents purposeful direction, and what our Soul needs.
Each sign possesses both positive, and less desirable attributes. At this time it's helpful to think of moving away from Virgo shadow territory, so that the positive expressions of Virgo can help catapult us into the high expression of Pisces. (In about 9 years the North Node will be in Virgo, and the South Node in Pisces)
Virgo is an Earth sign, representing the body, and the material world. Pisces is a water sign, representative of Spirit. We know opposites attract. In this case, Matter needs Spirit, and Spirit needs Matter. The best possible outcome is for our practical skills (Virgo - hard work discipline, organization) to help us manifest the creative vision for our lives that we feel called to in our Soul (Pisces).
With a Full Moon in Pisces we're gifted a time when the vision we have for the next chapter in our lives begins to ripen, and we can see it from a zoomed out, lofty perspective. Pisces motivates us to move with the creative river that originates from that heavenly place where the clouds kiss the mountaintops and continue on to cascade through our souls and pour outward into the world. In Pisces we innately know our own connectedness to the Source of Creation, and we live in alignment with that knowing.
So what might get in the way? When the Moon moves into Earth's shadow, the lights go out. Without the high expression of Pisces visible, the balance is disrupted. Piscean shadows can be illusions that seem real. Like a hologram of our lives where we project our ideal but it may not be grounded in reality. This is a time of illusions falling away. (Saturn in Pisces is helping with this). We may have to face things not being as we'd hoped, before we can get down to business and make them what they need to be. (which will in the long run probably be better than what we hoped for)
One more thing to consider, with the South Node representing what we are releasing in Virgo, this is a time when unhealthy Virgo patterns that have been hiding out in our lives will become apparent. We'll be seeing, and working with these for the next two weeks. When the New Moon in Virgo comes around, there will be a partial Solar eclipse with the South Node. An opportunity to clear some of these patterns out for good.
So what does unhealthy Virgo look like? Overgiving to the point of martyrdom. Low-self esteem because we doubt ourselves. A feeling of being inferior, not good enough, not measuring up to some self-imposed or inherited standard of perfection. Guilt, shame...things that hinder self-acceptance and unconditional self-love.
Before all the Virgos get mad at me for focusing on the Virgo pits, please know that this month is so important for you! On Sept 21 we'll have our second New Moon in Virgo this year. This is very special. It's as if the Universe said, "don't worry if you're still struggling with that fresh start in Virgo, you get a second chance! And this time comes with a powerful opportunity to call in the high expressions of Virgo (which we'll be talking about soon) and move forward."
Let's take a moment to consider aspects.
Mercury is in the mix, in Virgo, with the Sun and South Node. This is a key that our thinking needs to shift and change in order for healing to take place. Abundant Jupiter is still steeping and bobbing in the healing waters of Cancer, and making a beautiful and hopeful trine to the Moon. For the big picture? With Saturn and Neptune still in a minor triangle with Uranus and Pluto (all retrograde) we know that deep transformations that call for a radical shift in perspective are being supported now.
This is a key moment in a larger birthing process. Over the next two weeks it's beneficial to pay attention to the health of our physical (earthly) bodies. It’s also important to pay attention to self-talk. This can alert us to unhealthy mindsets that need to get the boot.
As we move forward, it's time to embrace Piscean themes: knowing that we are infinitely connected to Spirit, compassion for self and others, and a capacity to have the mountain top perspective.
How do we get there? How can we change? If we could clearly hear the voices of our angels and ancestors, what would they say about the nature of our true essence and identity? It’s time to listen.
