Change ( I want to say, “coming soon to a theater near you”.)
Change. It’s in the stars, which means it’s in our hearts. My dear friend recently texted me that she was feeling "soul wabbles". I love that! It make sense when we recognize all the "wabbling" happening in the heavens. We are living through an era shift marked by Pluto's passage into Aquarius.
For fun… take a moment and think back on all that's transpired in your life since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008.
Me? I got married, and we moved across the globe. We made a life here, and I fulfilled a long time dream of becoming a massage therapist with my own practice. We purchased our first home together. My children finished highschool. I became a grandmother. I began practicing Astrology. I lost four beloved furry family members. I grieved. I also contended with deep self doubt; fears that seemed as though they could swallow me up, and the life I'd built too. I entered the wild terrain of midlife. If I spent more than 60 seconds contemplating I’d think of so many more defining moments. When we talk about Pluto, we really are talking about huge chapters of life. What does your 60 seconds of reflection sound like?
Ushering Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius (Nov 19) we have a full Moon featuring Uranus, the ambassador of Aquarius. Uranus is throwing the gate wide open to this new chapter of life, asking us to welcome the changes at hand.
This Full Moon is in Taurus, the sign of the Bull. Steady, peaceful, and predictable are adjectives I’d use to describe this sign. However, with the Moon conjunct Uranus, there’s no telling what may transpire! It's very position in this sign of fixed earth symbolizes shaking up the status quo. Uranus brings upheaval, and wields the sword of chaos to slice through any torpidity that threatens to lull our lives into stasis. When Uranus plays (52 card pick-up!) , we receive the gift of clarity. As we begin to put things back in order we learn what our priorities are. That is the gift.
As we embark on a new sesason in our lives, and in the world, we need to know where we stand. Venus rules this Full Moon from the sign of Capricorn, the sign Pluto is leaving. Venus is also poised between the nodes of the Moon. As Venus represents our values, we’re being asked to navigate this transition by remembering the best of the Capricornian values we’ve gained: We’re being asked to harness the determination that got the work done, and the wisdom that was gleaned through the process. We're reminded that integrity means outwardly living our inward truth. And that in taking full responsiblity for ourselves we gain autonomy. We’ll need these attributes as we continue forward. Looking at Venus through the lens of the South Node ruler, we also see the symbolism of releasing the things we’ve built that aren’t meant to last. Card castles crumble.
Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, is stationing direct in Pisces the day of the Full Moon. In the mystical waters of Pisces, clear, concise Saturn survives through patience. But watery and ambiguous territories are not this planet’s preferred landscape. Even though Saturn remains in this sign for quite some time to come, its forward movement may help us to feel a renewed sense of purpose and decisiveness.
Meaningful new beginnings often include a period of review. And so, it feels apt that Mercury will retrograde for three weeks beginning on Nov 25th. It will station on 22° Sagittarius and work its way back to 6° Sagittarius. Questions that we encounter now will likely be themes that arise through the first half of December. Keeping an open mind and allowing a “don’t know” attitude will be supportive, even necessary, to journey onward. Opposite Jupiter in rx in Gemini, I think this may feel like, “just when I had a handle on this thing… or just when I thought I knew what was going on… things shifted”. Why? There’s a reason. There's something else we need to know. Let’s wait and see.
Ok my Friends! Lot’s happening! And we haven’t yet talked about the upcoming Mars retrograde. Why oh why will Mars spend so much time in Cancer? We’ll have a heartfelt discussion about that as we approach the New Moon.
For now, it might be interesting to spend some time reflecting on who we’ve become since 2008. What have we built and how has it shaped us? Our values? What is worth keeping? Are there any structures due for demo so that we can rebuild more innovatively for the future?
Aquarius is all about creativity, inspiration, innovation, and the future! It’s also about freedom.
Cheers to more of that!!!
Happy Full Moon in Taurus. May you find peace and steadiness within the process of change.
