Musings On... the New Moon in Scorpio 2024

Nov 1, 2024 2:47AM Hawaii Time

Have you ever had a conversation with your higher self? The best possible version of who you are, when you remember that you are one with the Source of all Creation?  Because I’m curious, when you tune into that version of yourself, what is your vision for your life?  What dreams, possibilities, hopes, and goals dwell  in the territory of your expanded vision?

Have the answers?

Now… what are you willing to do to make it real? Back to reality.

In this present moment, in this body, with these sets of circumstances, what will it take to change you into that version of yourself you just conferred with on the mountaintop?

You’d probably have to look at some things within that you’d prefer not to see… all of the things that hold you back from those big dreams.  It will probably take a great deal of effort.  It might involve some (reasonable) risk, a heckofalot of courage, and a shift in perspective.

Welcome to the New Moon in Scorpio!  When we get to take the deep dive required for complete transformation.  This one is no joke!  Paired beautifully with All Hallow’s Eve, this is the lunar cycle in which Pluto will move into Aquarius. The Lunar month opens with the co-rulers of Scorpio, Mars and Pluto, facing off in an opposition. (exact Nov 3)

Power struggles, wanting what we want and not being able to have it until we make major changes, breakthroughs (with enough effort applied)... these are the themes.

I want to take a moment and honor a very wise friend who recently transitioned into the Great Mystery.  She’s now one with the Source of all Creation.  I knew her for a short time, but she had a biiiig impact on my life.

One thing she liked to say is that in order for a butterfly to have wings, it first had to completely liquify inside the chrysalis. The form of the caterpillar it once was had to become formless. She also told me about imaginal cells (if you don’t know, please google!)  Imaginal cells are the cells of the butterfly that exist in the caterpillar.  When the caterpillar is ready to change they activate and guide the process of metamorphosis.

Our higher selves feel the imaginal cells within us.  There is a wise knowing within the dreams we have for our lives.  To follow them isn’t always dreamy.  It sometimes requires liquifying our familiar form, and it definitely requires courage and a lot of hard work.

As Pluto moves into Aquarius it's time to get in touch with that part of ourselves… to see with expanded vision.  This final degree of Capricorn reminds us that when it comes to magical transformations, we’ll only get out of it what we put in.

So how do you want to change?  What are you willing to do to make it real?

Happy New Moon in Scorpio my friends!  And All Hallow's Eve!

BTW: this lunar cycle may be laced with some tension. And if we opt to avoid changing… and don’t take the route of courage… life may bring us some tough love lessons. So please remember to do your Mars!  It’s been, and is still, our guiding light. My teacher, Steven Forrest likes to say that with Mars we get to choose… hunter or prey?  Which will you be? Pursue your dreams with the ambition of a hungry tiger chasing its dinner!  Go for it!
